Spread 122 - Painful Part - 72

9 Feburary 2013

Vintage and personal papers, handmade papers, gesso, matte medium, acrylic paint, Sigano white gel pen, tracing paper, Sharpie china markers, Molotow pens, Sigano black pens.

Growth is painful, boring, redundant. And yes beautiful and worth doing.

Done in an Orly Avineri class.

I really like this spread Brian. It’s got a very different feel and look to it. And I would add the word scary to your Growth list. It’s so easy to get in a pattern and stay. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, Brian- This is quite different from many of the spreads I have seen, here, on your blog, and in Orly’s wonderful book. It gives me a feeling of being underwater. I love all of the detail giving a sense of motion, and strong visual interest to the entire composition, and, especially, the way you have integrated the small elements of collage, with text, and the painted colors. Superb work!

I feel like your piece is looking into a microscopic world, a whole new world open to the artist. Great work!

I love the intricate detailing that you add to your pieces~~a deep part of yourself that you share.
