Spread 0097 – Operation

5″ X 8 1/4 ” Moleskine

Acrylic paint, vintage and personal papers.

I’ve been painting, collaging, layering all day. Maybe it’s the heat here. I need a break. I need some space. I need to get out of my head.

This is from one of my very first journals, a small Moleskine 5″ X 8 1/4″. It only has 7 spreads in it. I moved on to bigger journals. This is one of my first independent spreads. It comes from a painful time. Everything turned out just fine. It’s nice to look back and see where you’ve been. I love that about art journals.

I like that about journals too, how they are a record of our journey, both painful and joyful. Brian, glad everything turned out fine, and glad you are journaling…you work is fantastic!

This is a really cool spread Brian! I love how you repeat the red from the skeleton image into the red circles and red ‘laser’ onto the next page. It’s great to see some of your earlier work and interesting to hear what going on behind it. Thanks for sharing such a great spread!

The same goes for this piece as in my previous post. I feel so fortunate to have met you through your blog and emails. Can’t wait to meet you in person in October. This is yet another terrific post.
